Slater’s Gold

Feature Film - 2025

Slater’s Gold is a coming-of-age treasure hunt set against the untamed landscape of the Louisiana bayou.

Shot in the bayous of Louisiana in June, the film needed a visual language that was a throwback to the mythic adventure of an ’80s treasure hunt movie, but also remain grounded in the realism of its setting. The swamps, humidity, wildlife, and dense natural textures all breathed a special energy into every frame. High-output lights were used to create a slightly heightened, nostalgic tone, while remaining motivated within the world of the story.

The lighting strategy balanced strong foundational planning with flexibility. A clear visual roadmap allowed us to move efficiently, while staying open to spontaneous ideas and moments that revealed themselves on location. That balance between preparation and discovery shaped the rhythm of the shoot and ultimately strengthened the film’s adventurous spirit.

Slater’s Gold is currently in post-production and scheduled for release in Summer 2026.
